Hello,
I can not remove the link of a drawing in the electric data base
As in line 3 I can not choose 'none'
thanks,
You can remove a linked drawing from the electrical project database as long as all of the circuits in the drawing have been removed. When you unlink a drawing from the electrical project database, the next time you save the drawing, the data from that drawing is automatically removed from the electrical project database.
To unlink a drawing from the electrical project database
The drawing and its electrical data are removed from the electrical project database. You can reload the electrical project database in any linked drawings that are open.
Before you can select "None", all circuits need to be removed from the drawing. If you have any circuits that are connected to the electrical database, you cannot delete the circuit database from the drawing. You can use Circuit Manager to remove any circuits from the drawing.
I'm working in LT and have a recurring pop-up to an electrical project database. I can't find a way in LT to unlink the (unused and defunct) database. The Manage tab doesn't refer to databases. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the clue!
If the above doesn't work, you have to make sure the Circuit Manager is empty.
For my situation, the new file keeps its saved (relative) link string to the original database. In a new folder, this points to nothing. You can't unlink until the DB is empty, and the pointer can't save any changes so can't update the circuit manager.
You don't want to risk corrupting the existing DB, so the workaround is to create a new TempDB.epd in your working directory. When the Circuit Manager window is empty you can select <none> as the database in the dropdown.
Tested in MEP 2020. Woo!
Hi! Would you mind sending the "clue" or other means to get rid of the electrical link from my LT file? The thread was missing in your correspondence.
I'm an MEP user, but I think the LT version will not have the database tools available.
You're stuck with an artefact left in the file because it was created in MEP. Sorry I can't help further.
Hello,
We always have the drawings "Power" and "Lighting" separate. I did not have issue "unlinking" the data base from the lighting drawing. For the contrary, the power drawing the "<None>" from the drop-down it does not appear. I understand you must remove ALL the circuits. But in my case, these are e-Transmit drawings that I need to send and I do not want to have two drawing linked to the same data base since it weill screw the panel schedules and duplicate the loads (it did happen in the past!). How can I do that without loosing the circuitry? the issue is that the warning will popups every time you open the drawing. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
P.N.
