Diagonal Lines showing up on Tool Palette Objects (NEW to AutoCAD MEP)

Im fairly new to AutoCap MEP and am exploring the HVAC tool palette and encountered an issue with diagonal lines appearing on ductwork, diffusers, grilles, all the objects I select onto the model space. Is there any solution? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Hi there @mack5147

Thank you for posting your query on the forum and I hope you continuously explore AutoCAD MEP. I have two suggestions for you to take a look and try, please see if any of these solves your issue.

Additionally, if you would kindly give more information, context and/or the sample files where you are seeing such issues, that would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, may I check which AutoCAD profile are you using? You may find this by typing OPTIONS in the command line and on the top left "Current Profile: ..."

Hardware acceleration

Try turning off hardware acceleration.

Enter the GRAPHICSCONFIG command and click the Hardware Configuration button.

Display Properties

You may have 'Hatch' components ON in the display properties

To get to this settings follow the steps below

  • Select a MEP object
  • In the contextual ribbon tab, select 'Edit System Style'
  • Go to the 'display properties' tab
  • Select 'Plan' display representation and edit the display representation with the button on the top right hand side.
  • Toggle 'Hatch' visibility off

Do give the above suggestions a try and see if they work.

Best regards,

Yanhan

It worked! Seems like the default display setting for all the tool palette objects are hatched. Thanks Yan!
