Custom Schedule

Hello all,

I am working towards a final goal of creating custom schedules for Block-Based MV and Parametric parts.

The issue I have is creating custom columns in the Schedule Style Manager.

I open the Style Manager under the Manage Tab; expand Schedule Table Styles; And created a new Schdule Style.

I added Multi-View Part, and Multi-View Block Reference to the "Applies To" tab, and then click to the Column tab, and get no option to add columns. It is "greyed" out.

I can add the Quantity Column, but that's about it.  Even when ALL options under applies to is added, I still cannot add columns.

I have a screenshot attached. Any ideas whats going on here?

I am running AutoCAD MEP 2014 as part of the Building Design Suite 2014.

Did you start with an AutoCAD MEP template or a standard autocad template.  Looking at your attachement i don't see the standard schedule which leads me to believe that you might have started with another template.

Hmmm,

I did in fact create my own Templates for my drawings. We have x-ref's, page set-ups, layers, etc. set up in these templates.

I thought we had used AutoCAD default templates to create these from, and copied them over.

I assume there is some pre-loaded information that was not copied over when we created our own templates relating to the column options for schedule styles?

I would check and see if you have any property sets that are in your template that apply to both mvparts and mvblocks.  Because your scheduling both in a single schedule you will need to have a property set that applies to both.  If you only have property sets that apply to just a mvpart or to just a mvblock then that is your problem.  You need a property set that applies to both.

AH-HA! It all makes sence now.

One more question if you have time.

I have a 3D model turned into aBlock Based  MV-Part.

I assigned a Name, Size Name, Etc.

To populate my schedule with this info, I need to create a new Property Set Definition with this info and add it to the Schedule Style?

You could create a new property set or you could just read from the style based property set of the part.  What i mean by that is that when you created the mvpart you had to assign it a type.  That type creates a style when the part is inserted into the drawing and that style becomes a property set.  You can create a schedule based on the style property set.  So if you add an air terminal to your model you should now have a property set called MvPartAir_TerminalStyles in your drawing.  Just schedule this property set and you shouldnt have to worry about creating a new one.
