this only happens for some of my dwg drawings expecially larger files.

If the issue is file-specific, you may want to start by cleaning up the affected file(s). You can do that by using the tips in this article.

I think you're describing 'cursor lag'. My first reaction would be to disable as much eye-candy as you can find in the Options dialogs. The kind that happens as the mouse moves over things. Selection preview, anything with the word 'dynamic', tool tips, polar vector tracking lines, mini floating command prompts at the cursor, lineweight displays.

 

If Hardware Accel. is disabled, try enabling it. If it is enabled, try disabling it.

 

I've been using Acad since rel.12 and I've always scrapped the increasing amount of eye candy as soon as I installed the latest version.
