creating plenum box as a parametric part

I want to create a parametric part, which is a simple rectangular box and I want
duct connections from every surface and I want it to be parametric because I
want it to have the shape of the part that is connected. But I have never done a
parametric part I check the book but it just shows elbow creating.

Thanks in advance

It is not possible to assign the shape of a connection to a parameter, so building this as a parametric part isn't likely to solve the problem.  The other problem is that it isn't possible to assign a 'number of connections' parameter.

However, you could use a section of rectangular duct  then place takeoffs of any shape at any position on the four sides of the duct (see attached Plenum)

The other way to achieve this would be to create an 'in-place' MvPart... just use the AutoCAD 'box' command to create the box, select it, right click and use the 'Convert to MvPart' option... then you can add connectors anywhere on to any of the 6 faces...  I'm not sure what Category would be most appropriate, doesn't really matter too much since the Category doesn't have any specific functionality (except for Air Terminals or Sprinkler.)... in the long run, probably easier than trying to build a parametric part with any number of connections of any shape at any location... actually, this would be the 'utlimate' parametric because AutoCAD will just let you build what you need ;).

In your response you have the PLENUM.DWG as an example, how did you add that oval takeoff to th end of the duct, i've been trying to mimic your example to no avail. Each time I try i'm left with unwanted results.
