Setting a snap filter as default

Can the filter for snapping to a dimension be set as the default so I don't have to reset the filter for each NEW drawing? Please advise.

To snap to dimension lines, try the following:

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD Mechanical forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

As far as I know, snap filter is a general setting so unless it has been checked in an existing drawing, if you uncheck the box, all new drawings should be created with it unchecked.

Hi

Can you open the template file and make the changes so that it is applicable for all new drawings created thereafter?

Thanks,

Morning Cheryl,
I sent a reply yesterday indicating that I have basically answered my own question. One thing I do find is that this forum seems a bit repetitive and awkward to use. Perhaps when I get a bit more use from it things will become clearer.
Have a great day.

Hi Heath [@Anonymous],

I am very glad you were able to resolve the snap filter issue. I apologize though, your reply does not seem to have been saved to the thread. It would be great if you would repost how you solved the issue. I would be happy to mark it As the Solution and you will receive credit for it.

I agree, forums do take a little getting used to if you are new to them, but they can be a great resource for troubleshooting and learning. I hope to see you in the forums in the future.

All the best.
