Loft Command has changed... for the worse [AutoCAD Mechanical]

Hi there,

I haven't used the loft command in a few years and I noticed some of the options have changed and it looks like crap now.  It creates all these unnecessary lines, maybe it makes for a softer transition, but looks unrealistic and a total eye sore.  some of my shapes if I choose the "ruled" option it will go back to normal, but square to round shapes do not work.  Maybe there's some kind of option I can change.

I'm use to building these all the time, and just curious if anyone has noticed how crappy they look now.  I'm so annoyed!  They were fine before, why mess with the programming.

Greetings

What year version are you now using? And previously, last time it was "so different"?
What are we looking at in the image? And if you rotate it in another plane for another view?

May I ask: can you replace that with an actual DWG file (that portion of your drawing) please?
And what did you set SURFACEMODELINGMODE variable to?

I'm using 2020 AutoCAD.

I attached a picture of an old transition to show what it use to look like...  It use to loft how someone would build the transition with sheet metal.

Attached a drawing with both transitions to show the difference, ignore the different shapes - that doesn't affect how the loft builds the chute.

The SURFACEMODELINGMODE was set to 0, but setting to 1 made no difference.

Any ideas?  Really don't like the looks of this and no way to modify it.

Thanks,

Jason

So if I understand your original concern, you just don't like seeing these lines?

no, those lines indicate the pieces required to fabricate this transition which is correct - the drawing shows (2) different transitions, the one you are showing is correct.  The other has horizontal lines and vertical lines which are incorrect.
