Is there a way to get Autocad to recognize a fraction without a -. Autocad will recognize 1-1/2 but will not recognize 1 1/2. I have a block that has a field with an equation. I use a custom program that will not recognize 1-1/2

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD Mechanical forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

The screen shot looks like you are working with a table of values including measurements. While I do not know how the other program works, when entering a measurement into AutoCAD, the hyphen (-) is required as it is what ties the two numeric values together (a space indicates an Enter or separate values).

If you only need the values for the other program, you might be able to enter the values as a text (characters) only. Another option might be to use a decimal (for example 7.5) values instead of fractional. Most applications understand decimal.
