Export file in Step format

Hello All.

I am using Autocad mechanical 2018.

After designing my object in 3D, I am exporting it in stp format for cnc machine (mm dimension).

When the step file of the drawing is opened in soidworks or mastercam, the file opens up in a different scale and not what I have designed. When going for the scaling factor to resize the drawing, there is variation.

Say, my object length is 250.00 mm. After importing the step file in mastercam, it shows 1354.267 mm. When going for the scaling down, the dimension length that I get comes as 250.102 and not 250.00 mm.

Can anyone suggest solution for this?

Thank for that: where exactly is the 250mm measurement? I get 260+ and 230+ for the long sides of your two 3DSolids when I measure and dimension them

I wrote that to give an explanation of the dimension variation I am facing.

Still, here the edge length of 230 and 260 mm are the dimensions of the two objects. When I export these objects in step format and open them in solidworks or Mastercam there is dimension variation in the edge length.

Pls check for this on your side also.

Your STP and the DWG files are a perfect match here: my suggestion is you need to reach our to user forums or support over at SW and MC for help inside their software, while you edit your post's title to read

STP EXPORT OF 3DSOLIDS ARE THE WRONG SIZE IN SOLIDWORKS/MASTERCAM

Here are the links to those forums:
