draw circle vertically instead of horizontally on a line

well i m kinda learning autocad from internet and i know its just basic but can anyone help me? actually i want to draw this circle on the line of rectangle. i mean on line of rectangle so that i can trim the half circle and make it look like "M"

You want to draw the circle on a different plane? Is this correct?
You can orient the UCS so that you are on the desired plane.

You may want to use the "3" option (it won't listed on the command line) to define the plane since it does not look like you have a face there.

How do you change the UCS in block editor? I need to punch a hole through a surface on the side of a PFC and cannot to save my life figure out how to draw a bl***y circle in this nightmare of a great software.
