Dimscale Linear Changing

Hi Guys,

Anyone seen this happen before? Not too sure what is going on...When double clicking dimension (to add a text description e.g. "ID"), the dimscale linear changes to a random number. Dimension update seems to correct the issues but I'd like to fix the cause.

@AnonymousUse the DIMDISASSOCIATE command on the dims you are editing first.

Is that the only solution? I didn't think I've actually changed anything so I don't understand why the dimension has changed. Not real keen on running non-associated dimensions in case I change something later on in the model. The yellow exclamation boxes drive me insane as well!!! Problem is not something that always happens so I'm thinking it is something that I may have done...I just don't know how.

@AnonymousI've had this issue with some of our older drawings and after a lot of research myself this has been the only thing that has worked for us with these problematic drawings.

OK, thanks for your answer Jason. One of "those" ones.

@AnonymousThe answer that @Jason.Rugg provided is the solution for this. This was the same response I got directly from Autodesk when I initially experienced this issue.

Either option isn't idea. Is there a way to make this fail safe? I'm a bit concerned now that if a dim changes without being caught there could be some serious consequences during manufacture...! I've actually had this happen once but it was caught. I thought I'd done something and it was a one off but now I'm a bit more worried...!

You need to be using Associative Dimensions (DIMASSOC=2) and make sure you are snapping to real places in model space (EndPoint, MidPoint, Intersection, and Center). You may need to use DIMREASSOCIATE and/or DIMREGEN to update associative dimensions.
