DIMENSION GLITCHES

Working in ACADM 2010 or 2012.

Why is it that when we select a diemension the mouse "sticks" to it for several seconds?  The mouse doesn't stick to other elements, why to dimensions?  Very irritating.

Wee enter all dimensions associated on our drawings.

Why is it that if I simply select a dimension and change it from the default 2 decimal to a 3 decimal it is no longer associative?  Why is it if I simply select the dimension and indicate a new position on the screen it loses its associativity.

We don't think the associativity should be lost except when it is no longer attached to the geometry used to create it.

Even more irritating.

Mark

As far as snapping to dimensions, is OSNAP (F3) on? Have you changed your AMPOWERSNAP settings?

AMPOWERSNAP↲

Filters Options... (Click)

Dimensions (Un-check)

Let me know if that helps.

Hi, Kristen,

Thanks for your response.  I had tried changing the O-Snap filter options to no avail.  It really isn't snapping to the diemnsion, it is just when you select a dimension, no matter where you select it the mouse sticks, it's like it has been glued in that position and then a couple of seconds later it breaks loose and you can continue.  It only seems to happen with dimensions.  It is bizzare but we are all experiencing it.  I tried everything before posting.

I attached a sample drawing.  I would be interested to see if this happens to anyone else on our drawings.  Maybe it is something in the templates?  God knows......

Regards,

Mark

I see your ampowersnap is off, I tried clicking around and selecting the dimension but I had nothing 'stick' it just acted, errr, seamless I guess is a good word? No stickyness except at snap locations here... I'd suggest it being a RAM issue but I would highly doubt that since the file size is so small, and I opened it with Adobe InDesign, and Illustrator open along with a number of other ACAD-M drawings. I reopened it without ACAD-M running and still had no 'issue.' I'm running with the following specs:

Computer:

Dell Optiplex 7010

Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.4GHz

64-bit Windows 7 Professional - SP1

8 GB Memory

DirectX 11

Display:

AMD Radeon HD 7570

1920x1080

DirectDraw, Direct3D and AGP Texture all Enabled.

EDIT:

I restarted my computer and reopened your file, and I experienced the same 'sticking' as you mentioned. Here is how I fixed it:

Command: SELECTIONPREVIEW
Enter new value for SELECTIONPREVIEW <1>: 0
Command: SELECTIONPREVIEWLIMIT
Enter new value for SELECTIONPREVIEWLIMIT <2000>: 0

Let me know if this works for you...

(and if all else fails, you could try ._3DCONFIG and check for a graphics card and driver update)

Interesting....SELECTIONPREVIEWLIMIT is an "Unknown command".

I went ahead and checked, found a graphics card update, installed it and voila....problem went away.

Now I get to fix everyone elses too.

Thanks,

Mark
