Cannot Export STEP file

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello, I cannot export an autoCad .dwg file into a step file. I tried with the STEPOUT command on the command window.

Is this even possible with an educational version of AutoCad?

Thanks for your answers, Ingmari

It says "Unknown command", so my guess it the command is missing in the educational version.

Accepted solution
It should be also in the educational version.
Are you working with AutoCAD or with AutoCAD Mechanical?
It is only available in Mechanical.
Look in options under profile, if Vanilla is active you are on plain AutoCAD.

Can you please explain in details how to fix STEPOUT "unknown command". In 2021 its not working for me even if ACADMPP is selected in profiles. Thanks

Found solution for my issue. After resetting the ACADM to defaults, export to STEP is working now. Probably has something to do with profile import from previous version, or maybe I've imported vanilla ACAD profile into mechanical which is potentially screw up CUI paths...
