Black and white (Monochrome) view in paper space

Hi All,

I am using 2018 version AutoCAD Mechanical. I want to know if its any way (via settings or command) that I can make the paper space look in monochrome view while keeping colours in model space? Until I create pdf with monochrome settings, I cant seem to see things and sometimes, the text on the edges gets cut/trim when printed.

See the screenshot. Also, is there a way I can change setting where  model space is in white instead of black or paper space as black ? See attached image.

Regards,

Yash

Open PAGESETUP command in your layout and check the box DISPLAY PLOT STYLES that is under the pulldown menu you picked your monochrome plot style table in.

Hi Pendean,

Thank you very much. It worked. How do I make it as permanent setting instead of typing command every time ? If I choose option "set it as current", will it be applicable to all or there is something like template where I can set ?

Yash

Hi @Yashasvi23481,

I am very glad the post by @pendean helped with your monochrome question.  It will be applicable to the layout you set up, or any layouts that use that named page setup. See About Named Page Setups.

On your question regarding changing the background color of your model space or layout space, this can be done in OPTIONS:

  1. Select the Display tab.
  2. Select Colors.
  3. Select 2D model space or Sheet/layout.
  4. Select Uniform background.
  5. Select the preferred color.
  6. Press Apply & Close.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thank you for your reply.

My issue is the drawing I'm working in, it was set as follows:

Model Space = uniform background is black, drawing line work is in colors set by layer or assigned. (This is fine)

Paper Space = uniform background is black, drawing white line work no colors visible. (This should not be monochrome)

There must be a setting or configuration for paper space drawing line work to be all white, someone set it to be all white line work. I want to undo it.

There are no other drawings set the way unfortunately the person that did this no longer works here either!!!

Can't find anything on the internet to undo this.

Uncheck this box in PAGESETUP for each paperspace tab you want to change
