Array of lines that appear to pass behind polygon blocking the view of the lines

The above picture shows what I am referring to. A previous employee created a 2D detail in AutoCAD mechanical. The lines represent rebar in a footing. The detailer then edits the quantity of the rebar in the footing. He created a polygon shape in the middle of the rebar array that is connected with the rebar array. It omits the middle area of the detail so another detail can be placed in the middle of the rebar. I need to to alter the rebar detail making the horizonal length of the footing longer. I can't make the array path longer so I need to recreate how he has made this so I can create a new, longer footing detail.

Finally figured it out. He used the XCLIP function on each array to create the cut out.
