Xref Files Status Unreadable on AutoCAD Map 3D 2023

Hello,

I've encountered this problem in AutoCAD Map 3D 2023 wherein I have to reload the xref files again, whenever I open a drawing that was drawn on an older version of CAD. I know it's common to happen to just link again the files via the Saved Path. However, even if I link the right files by locating those again, it still says "Unreadable"... which means I have to insert all those xref files again. Very weird when this didn't happen on the older versions of AutoCAD Map 3D. Any input or thoughts would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

Just curious, where are the xrefs located? Locally on your hard drive? Or on a server? Would it be possible to upload an image of your External References Palette with the full file path visible?

Hello! The xrefs were located on the hard drive. They were previously created by an older version of AutoCAD Map 3D.. Not sure why it does it but still do. The solution I found was to attach the files again.. Terrible but no other way. Hopefully Autodesk would fix this. Thanks for replying!

I don't know if you are still having this problem or not. If you type reference manager into the Microsoft search it will bring up an app that you can run that will fix the "unreadable" problem. You don't need CAD to be open when you fix the paths.

The app will look like the image below. When you open the drawing the xref will be there like nothing happened.
