Stretch Command Won't Work After Deselecting Lines

When I select multiple lines and then deselect the ones I don't want to stretch, my stretch command no longer works. It only works when I don't deselect anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @maxYSAG8

<<…Any help would be greatly appreciated.…>>

Here is some any help. Two options:

  1. Instead of using a single crossing window use multiple crossing windows to select the individual portions you want to stretch. Use CNTL+window1, CNTL+Window2, etc., etc. Then execute STRETCH on the parts to be stretched.
  2. Select the individual entities you want to stretch=>right click=>Isolate=>Isolate Objects. Next, perform stretch command on these isolated objects. To exit isolation mode: right click in an empty area of modelspace=>Isolate=>End Object Isolation.

I use to be able to fence around what I wanted to stretch and deselect what I didn't so I guess I'm just wondering if I can do anything to return to this?
I can always work around but sometimes I need a certain line as a reference to where I'm stretching to or around and it would be nice to do it the way it has worked in the past.

If you use multiple crossing windows stretch still does not work correctly. CTRL also does not work well with the stretch command. In the past you could select a group of lines, hold shift and deselect and then enter the stretch command and everything worked great. It seems in the 2022 release something changed where once you deselect any line stretch won't do anything. However, you can enter stretch first, select a group of lines, deselect some and stretch will continue to function as expected. I know it's us old users being picky on changing workflow but I'm also curious why/what changed and if it is possible to have it work as it did in previous releases.

This is exactly the information I was looking for. I was just curious on how to do this based on updates that autodesk had made. This answers my question so thank you!
