Workflox creation, XOML-Files: Current state of usage?

Looking at the internet, there are not that many results for Worklfow and XOML-files, and the results are in most cases from year 2010 - 2014.

What's the current state of this feature?

- Is it used widely? Or is it more dead than alive?

- Why used? Why not used?

- Are there XOML-files for download - to analyse, for try and error (like LSP and PAT and DWG and SLD and LIN and
