AutoCAD has pegged the one processor it is able to use at 5.00%+- and is now only writing 16k of data every 3-5 seconds. The selection included 209627 points, polylines and data with each. It has yet to create the specified file or any scratch files in the destination folder.
P.S. As I was editing this post to add the image AutoCAD finally finished the WBLOCK operation... I guess it just takes an inordinate amount of time to WBLOCK these things.

If I have to move a lot of data, I just attach the drawing to the destination and query the layer I need rather than WBLOCK'ing.
