Unrecognized Coordinates

Hello,

I've got a shape file that is referenced to Lat Long NAD83. I attempted to import it with CSRS UTM-13N assigned to the drawing.

I get the error message "3 entities were skipped due to failed coordinate transformations"

I also tried it using a query and that didn't work either.

I'm using Civil3D 2014.

It works perfectly using Civil3D 2011.

What gives?

There's no topological errors in your shape: check the attachment out, sir.

The attachment is correct, but my original question was not with the shapefile itself but with the software. I can perform the conversion with C3D 2011 but not with C3D 2014 using Mapimport.

Can you please tell me how you created the new shapefile?

Thanks

Hi Dave, thanks for the reply:

I can import the shapefile as long as I don't assign a coordinate system to the drawing.

The problem is it won't convert to CSRS UTM-13NMap 3D recognizes CSRS UTM-13N. It shows up on the status bar beside the red dot.

It doesn't recognize LL NAD83. If I assign that system to a drawing it shows as Unrecognized.

As I mentioned in my original post I can convert it with no problem using C3D 2011 (either directly by assigning a coordinate system or through a query) but I can't do either with C3D 2014.

Hello,

Do you have the NTV2_0.GSB file in the following folder?

      C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Geospatial Coordinate Systems 14.00\Canada

If not, you will need to download, copy, and configure this file as desribed in the readme file found in this same folder.

The direct link to download the NTV2_0.GSB file is: http://webapp.geod.nrcan.gc.ca/geod/tools-outils/applications.php?locale=en#ntv2

Please let me know if this resolves the issue for you.

Thanks,

Diane

Hi Diane,

I did not have the .GSB  file and I've requested it from the link you provided.

Thanks
