Sheet Number of Total Sheets

Is there a way to create a field to automate the sheet # of ## section of a title block?

Great. This is looking like what I was hoping for.
Have you had experience using this? I am a little confused as to how to get it to work.

I typed Appload and brought it in, but I am at a loss as to what to do next.

Honestly, no, I haven't used it myself... I just remembered seeing it on
Lee's site and know that he's a master-guru. Sorry I'm not more help.

Well I did get it to work.

you have to type VBAMAN
Click on the file, click Macros, click run

But this only creates a list of Total Sheets.
If anybody knows how to automatically give the sheet a sequence number in the series of sheets, I would appreciate it.

I would use the sheet number portion of the sheet set, but I usually number my sheets A1.1 or L1.1, so it would look funny to have "sheet L1.1 of 75". I'm hoping for "Sheet 2 of 75"

Thanks

You can also type VBARUN to run just the macro, save you a step.

Have you looked at SSM to number the sheets? The renumber command is fairly easy to do. Just use fields in your sheet and a custom property for the total number of sheet. It will also create a list of sheets in paperspace.

I have a macro to renumber the sheets in SSM, but I would have to clean it up before I posted it.

Thanks for the tips.

I do make use of the sheet numbering feature thru fields. My problem is that I need a sheet to be numbered in two different ways. The sheet number is typically something like L1.1 or A1.1. I have no problem using fields to automate that.

My problem is when I try and then also do the Sheet x of 27 thing. If I use the field for sheet number, it will put in Sheet L1.1 of 27 in the spot. I am hoping that I can get something to fill in the sheet sequencing number in that spot.

I'd be interested in seeing any macros that are out there.

Thanks

Has anyone ever answered you on this?  When filing for the DOB, we always need the sheet#: 1 of 56, 2 of 56, etc  to appear. Here we are in 2016 and I have not seen a clear explanation of how to do this with fields. We simply put 'of 56' as text on the titleblock rather than add it to the Sheet set custom properties, then manually add the 1, 2, 3 on each sheet.
