Regional Settings

Oracle export the decimals if the regional settings, the idiom tab, is set to English.
If is set, for examplo, in Spanish, the Cervantes'languaje, Oracle is not exporting the decimals.
Is there a way to export with decimals no matter which idiom is set in the regional settings?
(and also no matter the number separator?)

So far I know, during installation Oracle normally
detects the installed operating system i.e. the used decimal delimiter and takes
this as default value for the database.

However, the decimal delimiter can also
be set manually in Oracle. Sorry, I don't know the exact command
to do so. Please refer to Oracle's documentation to find out. But, be
aware that this may cause problems when using Oracle also with other
applications.

In Oracle, the regional settings, including the language and formatting settings, can influence how decimal numbers are exported or displayed. If the idiom (language) tab is set to English, it typically follows the decimal formatting conventions used in English-speaking countries.

In English, the standard decimal separator is a period (.) and the thousands separator is a comma (,). For example:

- Decimal number: 12345.67
- Formatted with English settings: 12,345.67

When exporting decimal values from Oracle, it is common for the export format to adhere to the regional settings of the database or the system generating the export. Therefore, if the regional settings are set to English, the decimal values would typically be exported using the English decimal formatting conventions.

It's worth noting that Oracle itself does not have a specific "idiom tab" or configuration directly related to regional settings. Instead, the regional settings are determined by the operating system or environment in which Oracle is running. The language and locale settings of the operating system may affect how Oracle and other applications handle decimal formatting.
