Realtime GPS Tracking inside AutoCAD

Is anyone doing this? Do you know of a third-party program that allows this?

I would think it would be a simple interface. Turn it on, it shows a glyph at your location within a georeferenced drawing, and updates the glyph location as you move. It would allow you to Create Waypoint with description. That would create a block with an attribute.

Thank in advance,

Tim

Asked for that years ago, closest I got for a real answer was MapGuide with an add-on. If you remember the old Nextel commercials with the guy saying something like "Who's Agitating My Dots" That was an AutoDesk application that they "sold" to another company. 😞

We've recently added this to Gizmo3D (for Civil3D) and it will be available in MapWorks (for AutoCAD) soon.  We added a lot more functionality than just markers (for example spoken guidance to a point), you will find details at our forum post on it.

Thanks, Terry!

You don't happen to have a version that works on AutoCAD 360 for iPad....

Sure, it should work in its "Generic NMEA" mode.  Drop me an email to dotson [at] dotsoft [dot] com and let me know what CAD engine you have.
