ODCLASS - a tool based on Object Data for drawing, for defining characteristics

ODCLASS is an attempt to develop the idea of ​​Feature (Object) classes for dwg Map/Civil 3D based on Object Data. Since Autodesk stopped supporting Feature (Object) classes already in 2008-2010, there was nothing left to do but how to do it from scratch.

ODCLASS is a tool for organizing object drawing, for defining the characteristics (attributes) of objects in dwg.
Creating a tool for dwg is a conscious choice to use all the performance of CAD, it is a tool for topographers, cartographers, for those who draw, create maps.
It turned out to be both more powerful and more universal, at the same time got rid of the main disadvantages of the Feature (Object) classes. Plus, the ability to develop themselves.

ODCLASS works with any AutoCAD primitives, incl. with objects of vertical applications.

ODCLASS gives the best effect with ODEDIT.

In an empty dwg load File-->Load Description text file-example, and draw something from the object menu, etc. AutoCAD files from the examples keep closed-they are the source of resources. You can try to edit description text files - change names, drawing parameters, etc.
Try to create your own description file by analogy and copypasted content, try using ODCLASS_TEMPLATE for his exemplary representative dwg.

First of all, I myself need all these opportunities in my daily work. With great pleasure, I have been doing topographic-cartographic projects in ODCLASS + ODEDIT for 4 years that are more difficult or slower or impossible to do by other means.
I think that the best use of ODCLASS + ODEDIT is projects where it is more convenient to draw in dwg and where dwg is used. And small projects.
ODCLASS + ODEDIT will help primarily those who themselves draw, create plans, maps, because for this you need CAD tools.

It may not be obvious that ODCLASS will make using OD more efficient. But it is so!
In ODCLASS, attaching-creating the required OD is automatic. ODCLASS has explanations for the OD fields - what these characteristics are for. In ODCLASS, there is an input of values in the OD fields with a choice from lists and taking into account allowable ranges. ODCLASS has rounding values, checking values. And so forth.
ODCLASS + ODEDIT complement each other, and make work much more convenient.
For example, in the ODEDIT_TABLE table window, you can sequentially view the records in OD, and, at the same time, enter-edit values ​​in the ODCLASS_PROPERTIES window. Or sort the values ​​in ODEDIT_TABLE, select the ones you need and edit them in ODCLASS_PROPERTIES. Etc.  (Alas, after editing the values ​​in the ODCLASS_PROPERTIES window, you need to do a refresh to display them in the ODEDIT_TABLE window).
