Map 2021 No Longer ships with ArcSDEProvider.dll?

I am converting from Map 2020 to Map 2021.   I am setting up my ArcSDE Connection to ArcMap 10.6 and these are no longer available in the Map\bin\FDO directory

ArcSDEMessage.dll

ArcSDEProvider.dll

ArcSDEProvider92.dll

What I tried to do is,

1. re-enter the item back into the providers.xml located in the FDO directory.

<FeatureProvider>
<Name>OSGeo.ArcSDE.4.2</Name>
<DisplayName>OSGeo FDO Provider for ArcSDE </DisplayName>
<Description>Read/write access to an ESRI ArcSDE-based data store, using Oracle and SQL Server. </Description>
<IsManaged>False</IsManaged>
<Version>4.2.0.0</Version>
<FeatureDataObjectsVersion>4.2.0.0</FeatureDataObjectsVersion>
<LibraryPath>ArcSDEProvider.dll</LibraryPath>
</FeatureProvider>

2. Then I tried to copy the dll's from the 2020 directory into the 2021 directory.

3. I also copied the necessary files in the 2021 FDO Bin Directory as required by the ArcSDE connection to match the version of ArcMap.

So I am getting everything to show up in the MAPCONNECT window.   I then enter all my information and hit connect.  Nothing happens...

Is this something that is no longer supported in 2021?

**I also tried using the ArcSDE connection that ships with Map 2021.   When I try to connect that way, I make it all the way to where you are supposed to pick your feature classes and nothing shows up and no errors are presented.   I did hook a debugger to it and it stated that it could not list the Feature Classes.

Hi @chuck.yocum,

from the description, you are looking for the FDO ArcSDE Provider.

Indeed this provider has been removed from the current version and we have the following further details:

Discontinuation of ArcSDE FDO Provider

The alternative is using the FDO ArcGIS Provider for the SDE connection.

Kind regards
