KOSOVAREF01 coordinate system

KOSOVAREF01 coordinate system is not included yet in AutoCAD.

We are using only this coordinate system, and please if anyone can help me to use this coordinate system with AutoCAD Map.

Thank you very much braudpat.

I will try to translate it from French to English.

Hi Burim,
I used MAPCSCREATE to create a Custom Coordinate System based on Parameters from >>>Here<<<. When you open the attached drawing it will ask if you want to add KosovaRef01 to your MAPCSLIBRARY. Click Yes and you're off to the races.
Use MAPCSLIBRARY >> View to look it over.

Thank you very much Dave for your effort.

You can find attached Kosovo borders and main roads to compare with Kosovo borders you sent.

I think it is problem only with one point to regulate the whole territory of Kosovo, because with MAPCSCREATE you can give only one location point.

However, I greatly appreciate your desire and effort for help.

Burim,
"...problem only with one point to regulate the whole territory of Kosovo..."
I think there's other things at play here. I found another shapefile of Kosova that is 3000 Meters different than the one I used for that drawing. Is it spelled "Kosovo" or "Kosova". I've seen it both ways.

Your road data looks like it's shifted 470 Meters south of Bing Live Maps. Where did you find your linework? Can you post a link so I can do some testing?
Kosova_3.png

A good test would be to compare Official Survey Monuments with hard coordinates. Do you have any of those?
Dave

Hi Dave,

Internationally it is known as Kosovo, but locally as Kosova.

Our linework is prepared by our company based on orthophotos from year 2009 from Kosovo Cadastral Agency, so you can not find them elsewhere, but the linework I send are OK and are based on KosovaRef01 coordinate system.

The problem is that we don't want to use anymore old orthophotos, but instead we want to use Google/Bing maps as background.

Can you explain more, please, about Official Survey Monuments with hard coordinates, what you mean with that.

Burim,
Official Survey Monuments are points with published coordinates. Like brass discs or concrete monuments where a surveyor would start his survey from.
I think I have the shift figured out. The Spatial Reference listing for KosovaRef01 shows a Gauss Kruger Projection, in which Map 3D doesn't let you note the 0.9999 Scale Factor. So I'll need to change the Projection from Gauss Kruger to Transverse Mercator. If you multiply the Northing by 0.0001 it's about the amount of the shift. I'll test it.
Dave

Hi Dave,

I don't know that we have in Kosovo points with published coordinates.

Please, tell me, after you test projection with Transverse Mercator.

Burim,
This gets you very close. I changed the Projection from Gauss_Kruger to "Transverse Mercator using Kruger Formulation" and added the 0.9999 Scale Reduction. Very close.

In MAPCSLIBRARY click the Edit Button and make these changes.

Very close. And keep in mind that Bing Live Maps is not perfect. It is not exact.
