Insert Block doesn't connect to libraries

Hello,

i want to insert a block in AutoCAD Map 3D. When I try to access the block via libraries it only shows: "File not Found. It may have been moved, edited, or deleted". I doesn't even give me the chance to connect or reach the block. Also I did never connect a library through insert blocks before. I already tried to reinstall the whole app but it won't work.

Hello @robin_wachtel

Here are two options you may try:

  1. Go to OPTIONS=>Scroll down to 'Blocks Sync Folder Location' and verify the location of your Blocks (Make sure to put your block is in the folder named C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\YourProgram 20XX\enu\FavoriteBlocks
  2. Go to command line type in CLASSICINSERT=>Browse to your block

@ChicagoLooperthanks for your help.

Unfortunately I am still not able to reach the libraries. I need to insert the block via libraries to get access to the variation of blocks within the file.

Are the blocks stored locally on your hard drive?

Or do you need to connect to a server to assess the blocks?

The Blocks are stored locally. Either way I won't be able to connect to any library. The only thing AutoCAD shows me if i click on libaries is the screenshot I shared.

The default location for blocks is here

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\YourAcad 20XX\enu

You can put your block library in there under FavoriteBlocks. Your block library should be a dwg file containing all your blocks. You can organize your blocks by placing them in more than one dwg file so they're organized by category.

Go to OPTIONS=>Files Tab=>Blocks Sync Folder Location and verify the sync folder is mapped correctly so your Block Palette can find your library.

Robin, When using Insert from Libraries, to insert the entire dwg file, you must select the folder, view the included files, and then right click insert and explode
