Greetings-
I was recently tasked with updating utility mapping in an loosely established autocad map environment. The existing utility map has file based object data for certain utility features. I would like to use Infrastructure Administrator for further investigation and editing of the object data but can't get it to open from the Map dialog. I get the error when trying to access the Infrastructure Administrator through the ribbon button. I can run infrastructure administrator as a standalone autodesk program but this doesn't seem to be as useful as working in the Map interface.
I'd appreciate any help you can provide.
Hi,
If you want to access "TBADMIN", you first have to connect to an Enterprise Industry Model:
Kind regards,
Hi Sebastian-
Thanks for the quick response...
So I will need to move away from the file based object data within AutoCAD MAP and towards a database of some sort if I want to take advantage of Infrastructure Administrator?
Are there any Autodesk tools available to support that transition?
Thanks,
Good question...
There are not so much "out of the box" tools, to do the transition. Maybe the bulk copy can help to move some data from your files in your Database. By the way, you could also stay in a "file-mode", with sqlite. The database is then embedded in your file.
Kind regards,
Hi @japost ,
to convert data from GIS data sources e.g. SHP to Industry Model the command _MAPCONVERTTOMODEL is an idea.
We need an existing Industry Model and can map the attributes and Geom with the import dialog.
Regards
