When I opened a shape file the drawings are garbled. See picture. It opens fine in QGIS and ArchGIS.

Troy,

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

As @antoniovinci says, it would be helpful for diagnoses to post your shapefile.

I remember, in my dim memory, seeing this once before, but I can't recall specifics. In the absense of data to test, the only thing I can offer is to suggest turning off High Quality Geometry to see if it's a graphics issue:

I've seen similar issues at times when Map has had to reproject the data; if they have different coordinate systems assigned then run a test making sure that your shp file and dwg are both using exactly the same coordinate system and see if it looks any better.

Hi,

the best way to verify this is to didn't assign a coordinate System to a new drawing.

In this case Map will use the coordinates as it and will assign the original coordinate System of the shp file to the drawing if known.

Using this way we can see if the Problems depends of coordinate System Transformation.

Hello Dave,

Thanks for the response. I already emailed @antoniovinci one of the shape
files.
Where can I find the setting for High Quality Geometry?

Troy,

I don't see your attachment.

As for the High Quality Geometry setting, Type GRAPHICSCONFIG in the command line or Right-Click here:

Thanks. That solved the problem! What I did was to turn off the hardware acceleration option because the high quality geometry option was disabled (dimmed). I think my video card is not compatible.
