How to migrate user on AutoCad Map 3D 2013 to a newer version?

Hello everyone,

I have been in touch with AutoCAD support and they told me there isn't any way to migrate settings from AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 to newer versions, specially the latest version 2019.

I would like to know if anyone has any tips or step by step info about how to upgrade a user who has AutoCad Map 3D 2013 on a windows 7 PC - his PC is being upgraded to a new machine running windows 10 and therefore a new version of AutoCAD Map 3D is required - we are thinking to move to the latest version 2019 but any other suggestions are welcome.

This user has customized menus and settings and we would like to keep everything as it is  as he doesn't want to set everything up from scratch.

Let me know if anyone has any hints.

Kind regards,
Seb

You want to do all of that manually since moving from 2013 to 2019 is just too far a timeline IMHO.

What "settings" exactly? Find out in detail, get a full list.
Did the user actually create a unique and custom/separate menu file for the "customized menus" or did they just edit the core menu file? Find out in detail.
Also identify "everything" for those of us over here with no contact with anyone over there.

I asked the user for more details and he said:

I.e. The add the LSP files in the right location the MMU files and the icon files.

He claims he has all the files saved but he doesn't know the location they need to go, I believe he is talking about CUI files...

I don't use CAD so I might not be describing very well what he needs to transfer, I am happy to take a screen shot of his customized settings, would that help the community to see if there is way to manually migrate this to version 2019?

Hi,

upgrading could be a thing of menus, apps, tools, but most important for Map 3D ... is the user working with Industry-Models? Depending on the database servers (version of server and driver) used you might need to upgrade them too!
