How to create topographic profile from contour lines AutoCAD MAP 3D

Hi!

I have imported a .dem-file and made contour lines. Now I want to make an elevation profile (cross section) along a certain line. It seems like this is possible in Civil 3D, but I don't yet have this software. How can I do it in 3D MAP? I was also wondering how to label the contour lines so for instance major lines have: "------100m------" on them (also in 3D MAP).

There are some commands in the Enterprise Industry Model toolset that appear to do this - but it looks seriously cumbersome. You can look >>HERE<< for instructions. Civil 3D would be the better route. You can add labels to your contours by adding labels through the Style Editor for your contour feature.
