How can I import blocks from .SHP file with proper rotation angle?

Good Morning Everyone...I am using ArcGIS and AutoCAD 2D Map 2007. I have several .SHP files that I would like to bring into Map. One of the .SHP files consists of about 1000 point features (electrical distribution fuses). I am IMPORTING the .SHP file into a "seed" dwg. in which the proper FUSE block resides. The proper symbol gets used, but all of the fuses are getting inserted at the exact same angle. How can I inherit the rotation angle from the original .SHP file? I'm sure there is a simple solution to the basic problem!!! thanks a bunch for the help and enjoy the day! Jody

There is most likely more than one way to do this but if it was me this is
how I would do it. I assume your Shapefile has an Attribute field for
rotation.
1. Import your shapefile as you did before to your seed drawing. Make sure
you import the rotation field as OD or Block Attribute
2. Open a new drawing and attach your drawing the contains the imported
shapefile data
3. Create a draw query that alters properties using the rotation angle using
the rotation attribute data
4. Execute the query, detach drawing and save new drawing.

Hi,

How did you set up the drawing to create the proper block when you automatically brought in your .shp points and can you select specific .shp layers to be modified by it?

This would be better answered with some sort of screencast.

DM me if you'd like.  I'll run you through how to do it using zoom sometime this week or upcoming week.
