Greetings all,
My quick question id for an alternative way of exporting a cluster of points as .shp files and then manipulating the .dbf file in order to create an excel/csv file.
Is there another way of exporting my data as .csv or excel from Map3D?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
your approach exporting as SHP is probably the quickest but Map has a feature to create CVS files - further details in Map help - "Running a Query in Report Mode":
http://docs.autodesk.com/MAP/2013/ENU/filesMAPUSE/GUID-82F678B9-EF66-4E42-B281-527E339E3BD8.htm
Basically you need to attach you drawing with the points,
create a query
create a report
execute query
Report can include ac-object properties (coordinates etc.) and map object data as well.
Good luck,
Rob
Gentlemen, the OP has no shapefiles: he just wanna avoid to create them.
He has a bunch of points, from which extracting the XYZ coords to an external .CSV, period.
There are several ways to accomplish that, either internal (command _DATAEXTRACTION) and external like this one.
