Error in Map 3D's termin?

Hi, yesterday I was confused when found mistakes in my geodetic's experiments. Look to MAPCSLIBRARY and parameter named "Eccentricity Squared" in Ellipsoid's properties. F.e. lets look on "World Geodetic System of 1984, GEM 10C"

image.png

In Help's guide also it parameter named as "Eccentricity Squared"

Other case - when you going to definition of each coordinate system (f.r. for LL84) it value [0.0818191908426213] name as "Eccentricity". Sorry for Russian screens - my Eng version is failed

For WGS-84 Eccentricity Squared = 0.00669438. And it differences in definition is problem to understand principle of working MAP 3D. Thus - my question, is it problem dealing with only mistake in termin or for value of "Eccentricity Square"?!

Best regards,

In 2012ru and in 2019en:

In 2012 and 2019, the terms are the same - "Eccentricity."

By the way, it can be seen that from 2012 to 2019 the values changed.

Yeah, in those windows it looks like true, but if you going to any ellipsoids definition - there you will find it value with other name. Problem with differences in "name" and valid value for that "name" of parameter.

Egor,
Good catch. If Eccentricity Squared "Specifies the eccentricity" then I'm confused.

It took me a bit of time to even find the formulas. Best I could find was >>>Here<<<. And then after further reading I find the concepts of "first" and "second" eccentricity and flattening, of which I have no idea.
