Dialog Box for Query window will not open in AutoCAD Map 2023

Can't get the Query dialog box to open, it will only show up in the command line which is very hard to work with. This was working fine for me at initial install.

I've done multiple searches for this issue and none of the solutions seemed to work. I have checked both Filedia=1 and CMDDIA=1. I have also double checked all the support file paths and restarted the program. I can sometimes get the dialog box to open at random without doing anything, i'm really at a loss here. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi @ashleyyoung6540

You didn't explain what you're trying to to QUERY.

Are you trying to query an FDO (feature data object) such as a shapefile?

Or are you trying to query 'smart objects' that have OD (Object Data)?

Or are you tying to run a different query altogether?

You can right-click a LAYER on your Map Task Pane then select Query to Filter Data to get the Query Dialog window.

Or you can use the Ribbon. Go to Map Setup tab=>Map panel=>Define Query icon.

Hi,

What is the value of STARTUP variable?

If it's an odd value, try to remove 1 of actual value (replace 3 by 2, or 1 by 0)

My STARTUP was set to 1, I changed it to 0, still couldn't get the Define Query window to open up, switched it back to 1 same thing.
So I set STARTUP back to 0, closed down AutoCAD and reopened the program. Set STARTUP back to 1 and BAM the Define Query window opens again. This must be a glitch of some kind as I have had no issues with my Start Up dialog box opening up on start up with the value set to 1. So bizarre but I'll take that as a win for now.
