Cut off a solid with another solid

I want the horizontal box to be only the part within the cylinder.

I've tried trim and subtract, but those don't work.

How do I do this?

Make a 'temporary' solid donut shaped object. The donut hole (empty space) will be the exact same diameter as the cylinder. Position the donut so the cylinder is inside the donut hole. Make the height, or the thickness, of the donut taller than the cylinder.

Subtract command:

Horizontal box - Donut = What you want..

Hi @john_daues

I think you make a temporary cylinder sized to inner your cylinder, and use INTERSECT to obtain what you want.
