AutoCAD Map 3D Freezes on Startup

The workspace will open, but immediately freeze. The same happens whether I start the software first or double click a file. I tried the solution in the forum post:

The solution did not work.

I should note that the AutoCAD software freezes, not Windows. I have to use the task manager to force stop AutoCAD.

Is this a new installation of AutoCAD? What version of AutoCAD? Are you up to date on Service Packs?

Yes, of course. I should have given this info.

 

This is a new install of AutoCAD Map 3D 2016 on a laptop with an Intel 64 bit Core i7-2760 @ 2.4GHz with 16gb RAM and the NVIDIA Quadro 1000M display adaptor.

 

I'm running the fully updated and current version of Windows 10 Pro. AutoCAD Map 3D is also updated and has the service packs installed.

Dunno. Are you on a Network of any kind? All I can think of is to try RESET:

Thanks for the quick response!

 

I never had the opportunity to set any settings other than selecting the workspace. I tried this anyway as per your suggestion. I reset and tried each of the workspace options. All still end in the same result of a frozen and empty workspace.

 

So, it's still not working.

Looks like a complete re-install is in your future. Maybe someone will chime in with something brilliant.

Unfortunately, I performed the complete uninstall/reinstall last night before starting this thread. It did not help.

Hello

 

1) Is ACAD (ACAD commands NOT MAP commands) running correctly ?

 

2) It it only the MAP Workspace which is the problem ?

Hi,

 

do you rest your AutoCAD Profile to default?

Thats because the deinnstallation not delete every user profile of AutoCAD Map 3D.

Issues inside the user Profile can crashes many commands inside AutoCAD.

 

You will find it in your start menu at the same place as starting AutoCAD Map.

Hi,

I am not sure i follow what you are suggesting. But, all functions are frozen when the software starts up. The workspace will appear to launch. When it is loaded, everything on the screen is non responsive. I can still move the cursor around and work with other programs on the other monitors, but no joy with AutoCAD/MAP.

I've just the same with Windows 10, Map 3D 2017 (newest Service Pack & Hotfixes).
