AutoCAD Map 3D 2016 Geolocation Issues

Is there a Hotfix yet for the Geolocation in AutoCAD Map 3D 2016? I can't get the Geolocation function to work at all. I also have AutoCAD Map 3D 2015 installed on my computer and it works just fine in that program.

Hi,

right-click onto the A360-icon in your Windows status bar and log-out from A360.

Then start Map 3D 2016 first (do not start now 2015) and see if the areal images from BingMaps work now.

BTW: have you assigned a coordinate system to your Map 3D drawing and use command _GEOMAP or do you use _GEOGRAPHICLOCATION to assign a position.

Hello Alfred,

I have tried all of those things and I have tried 4 different coordinate systems and nothing is working. I tried doing a repair but I think I may try to uninstall and reinstall it to see if that does anything. When I use Geolocation I usually type GEOMAP or use the icons in the Ribbon.

Just to see if there is a connection to BingMaps can you try a new drawing, without any assigned coordinate system and start command _GEOGRAPHICLOCATION?

below is a screen shot of the window I received after typing GEOGRAPHICLOCATION. Usually if I'm signed in it at least gives me a "Bing" logo in the bottom right of my screen but with this it's not.

by any chance (e.g. it's a laptop ... can you try to connect to internet using another connection (so other firewall, other or no proxy, ...)

If you create a new Windows user on your system, does this one also have no option to connect/get the map visualized).

I got the issue fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling AutoCAD Map 3D 2016. Thanks for your help Alfred

Thank you a lot for the feedback! And good to know it's back working now.

For me: I have learned now that reinstall Map 3D soved that issue, that was the first time I read that, until now in most cases it was depending on the A360 service and login. Maybe we see other posters with the same result in the future.

Anyway, it's working and that is what is needed!

This is frustrating for me too.

It seems to be a hit or miss. Sometimes the maps show up, sometimes they don't. 

I'm almost always logged in to 360, but even when I log out then get back in the maps don't work.

Yesterday they worked great. Today I can't get them to load. Same drawing's, even.

I'm working in AutoCAD, Map, and Civil 3D. 

There just seems to be no rhyme nor reason to them working or not working.

I keep Google Earth images in the drawings for just such occassions.
