I download the MAP2012 API help files from

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=13842623&linkID=9240857

however when I open the help file I get an error.

"Navigation to the webpage was canceled"

"Retype the address"

any help is appreciated.

I am assuming the help file will also have sample code etc.!!!!

Hi,

>> however when I open the help file

"the helpfile" .... which one of the 35?

I have opened the first 3, after building the initial index (what uses a bit of time) the CHM's worked well.

What OS do you have, very deep in my brain a cell tells me "there were some issues with CHM-files and Vista"?

Thanks alfred for you response.

I am using Win7/64. If I open any of the files I get the error.

This may be a stupid question!!!!

Index, what index and how do I build one, any why would autodesk not include tthe index or instruction on this bit of info.....or did I miss that somewhere.

My end goal is to write an application in VB.net to create SDF file in Map2012.

any samples out there.

Hi,

One (major) question is left ... what CHM-file don't open?

>> application in VB.net to create SDF file in Map2012.any samples out there

Download the ObjectARX kit for Map3D (>>>here<<<) there you have a lot of samples, also within the directory "Platform" for FDO (what also is an option for putting AutoCAD geometry to an FDO destination)

You can also look to the >>>wiki-help<<<.

None of the CHM files work.

example I just tried opening acmapapi.overview.chm and got an error.

The links you sent are great stuff. I see why you are a Master contributor
