XREF

I have been using AutoCAD LT for around a year now and generally have no problem using XREFs. However, this morning I was trying to put an XREF into a drawing and it just won't show up in the drawing?

There are no problems with the drawing (the units and coordinates are correct) and there are also no problems with the XREF that are usually reason for it not to upload (no error messages are appearing, the status of the XREF is loaded, the path type is correct and the layers of the XREF are coming up in the Layers tab as they usually do). The only issue is that it is just not appearing in the drawing at all.

My coworker put the XREF into the drawing on her computer (she did it the exact same way as I did) and it worked perfectly fine for her.

If anyone has any ideas as to what has happened, some advice would be very much appreciated.

Did she attach the Xref in the same drawing or template ?

Can you see huge coordinates when you mouve your mouse after a Zoom All command (double click on the mid button) ?

Thank you for the reply. Yes, she was able to attach the exact same XREF to the exact same drawing. The coordinates aren't the problem either as I've been able to attach XREFs to the same project in the past, maybe it is a problem with my computer?

Dumb questions:

1) VISRETAIN is on or off?

2) Did you thaw/turn on all layers in your file (don't assume, just actively freeze/turn them off then all back on/thawed), then ZOOM>Extents to see where it landed? Ideally you are in the MODELSPACE tab for this test and not inside a viewport or in a LAYOUT.

3) Use SELECT command with the LAST selection option to see what gets highlighted if you still cannot find it. If SELECT command says nothing found, you might have missed an error message, you'll want to expand your commandline to be 5-10-20-30 lines tall to find out.

And ensure you are aware of your XREFLAYER setting.

Thank you for the response, I went through the questions you replied with.

I froze and unthawed all of the layers and then ZOOM>extents and the XREF is in a completely wrong place... not sure how to fix that as coordinates are correct but thank you for helping me identify the problem.
