Is your Windows log-in quite restrictive from your IT folks? That seems to be what you are showing/describing. Only they can help you out.

Bigger question though: why do you think you need to/ want to edit that file? It's not meant to be used by us end users

That's usual for system program path.

Save it at another place and use ctrl+x / ctrl+v

I would prefer a custom folder, not in this system path.

Except you want to set up this PC for other users, and all of them should use the same file.

Good point Pendean,

@franschor

You shouldn't edit acadlt2025 and acadltdoc2025

Create your own with the name

acadlt for program start

or

acaddoclt for each document!

I’m an old fashion 12 AutoCAD user and use the keyboard more than the mouse
and built a lot of commands by myself.

Yeah, those old ways need to remain in history. We all used to do a lot back then that never were a good idea.

You want to create your own custom-to-you folders, add them to search to your AutoCAD search paths, keep your custom content away from program folders, then create your own ACADLT.LSP and ACADLTDOC.LSP files to do what you need to do

And don't forget to add those LISP folders of your to this section otherwise the program will block them from running

Your lisp file can also automatically be loaded on startup by including it in autocad appload startup suite
