Wacom Tablet calibration not accurate

I am using Autocad LT 2018 and have been successful in using the Wacom intuos4 PTK-640 as a pointing/mouse device and have been able to use it as a table. However when i try to calibrate and use the table as a digitizer the drawing of lines are not proportional or accurate. I created a 1" x 1" grid to calibrate the tablet but it doesn't draw to 1" to 1" scale and the x drawn line isn't the same length as the Y drawn line. The Y drawn line is longer than the X drawn line.

I an trying to digitize hand tools to be able to create drawings and then be able to make a CNC program to cut the tools out of hard plastic for a shadow board tool holder.

Any one have any good suggestions how to complete this task?

is Wacom actually providing a digitizer driver specifically for AutoCAD (not just Windows), that you use with TABLET command inside AutoCAD to specifically tie it into the Wacom tablet? Simply type TABLET, hit <enter> and see what AutoCAD reports. I don't see one on their website for this tracing/drafting method that you seek. Worth asking Wacom Support.

TABLET command in AutoCAD must recognize the device driver in order for you to use it as a digitizer.

when I type tablet into Autocad I get "Tablet Enter and option [ON OFF CAL CFG] : 

all four of the commands are valid and usable. 

Years ago I was able to use a summagraphics tablet to be able to digitize drawing and trace/sketch around items to get a proportional drawing that I would then clean up and create an accurate drawing. I didnt know if this was still an option. 

if it isnt a valid option then why does the tablet calibrate command still exist? 

if the X and Y coordinates was proportional I could use the scaling method to adjust the size.

Any other suggestions/methods for digitizing?

That's good new then: LT2018 is recognizing your tablet as a tablet through the installed driver.

Now you need to set it up in LT2018:

Start TABLET command, then CFG option, get to the question "Do you want to respecify the screen pointing area?" then define an area on your Tablet for the program to use as your drawing area. Think of it as your monitor display on your tablet. Once that is done, ensure TABMODE is set to 1 and try your test again.

Tap HELP and explore TABLET command in more detail there.

FYI it's probably easier to just scan your image, attached it in a dwg file, and trace right over it on screen in the program without much hassle. If you have a touchscreen and a pen in WIndows10 it's even easier.
