Updating datalinks changes the formatting of tables

I have some tables in my template that are datalinked to an Excel sheet.

This is what the table looks like:

When I update the datalink, it changes all the formatting and looks like this:

If I click into a cell, this is what I see:

Why does AutoCAD decide to change all the formatting to something random??

This happened to me before when I did the AutoCAD LT 2021.1 update. My solution then was to remove the update and go back to the original AutoCAD LT 2021 installation. Now I have updated to AutoCAD LT 2022, and this is happening again.

Do I never get to update AutoCAD??

Dealing with this software is the absolute worst part of my job.

You will need to repot your LT2021.1 and LT2022 issues here https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

I've been playing around with this. Its not just datalinks.

Even if I unlock the cell, the whole formatting changes and the text switches to 0.0004 size.

Did you actively create and set active a tablestyle named uniquely to you (aka not called STANDARD)?
or is your tablestyle called STANDARD and in this file that's not defined as you wish but as it is changing?

Or is the Excel format bleeding through?

No, I hadn't been using TABLESTYLE when I set up the formatting for everything. The only TABLESTYLE is the Standard one, and I haven't made any changes to that.

I have my datalinks setup to use the AutoCAD formatting.

Now there is one datalink that always changes the text size to 0.0004 for any project I open. The rest of them seem to work fine.

I attached a screen shot of the properties for the table that is having the issue.

The "Revising Plans" image shows the properties for a project I opened up to make some revisions.

The "Settings in Blank template" image are the properties for the same datalink/table in my blank template. The template hasn't changed in awhile.

Thank you for any insight. For now my only solution is to correct the settings in the block for each project I need to revise.

Any potential solutions?

I've made some changes to my template so its not an issue for new projects, but there are hundreds of old projects that this still affects. Its incredibly annoying.
