UCS rotates randomly when using MTEXT command

Here's an utterly bizarre problem. My boss and I are both running LT2020. On his machine he has a semi-regular issue, where when he tries to insert some MTEXT, the UCS rotates around the Z axis, effectively making his crosshair disappear. Looking back through the command line shows NO UCS command! He has to reset the UCS to World to continue.

Any ideas?

Not seeing that here: If you turn off UCSFOLLOW variable does the problem go away?

You both also should have the 2020.1.3 update installed: ABOUT command will confirm if you do or not.
