Is it possible to convert single lines of text into an MTEXT entity?

Sorry, not automatically like in full AutoCAD's TXT2MTXT Express Tool
command.

You can, however, copy each line individually and paste them into an
MTEXT session. Or, better yet, copy the single line text and paste into
Notepad, etc, and then select all lines at once and paste into the MTEXT
editor.

Here's an example of how I might change a single
line text to a Mtext.

1.  I copy a single line text into the above
macro and then I'm able to make corrections to the text as if it were Mtext,
which it is.

You need to copy/paste from inside each of the text editors: simply selecting a text object is not correct.

Thank you, I finally figured it out right before you sent the help note email.

I still hope there are ways to select a bunch (sorry for lack of words) of single text lines and convert them into a mtext like we have on TXT2MTXT.

And I realized there are no lsp and/ or macro, I suppose.

(I am just an one man operation architect office, I bought LT version and can not afford to buy a full version)

Hope Autocad will make it work for LT with an update/ service pack in the future.

You can also (easiest way) just double click you plain Text in acad, copy the contents and exit text editor, then simply right click paste anywhere in acad and it will paste in as Mtext. Thats what I do. cheers

Not sure what everyone here is talking about.

You absolutely can do this.

One of the updates about 6 months ago to ACAD LT was the TXT2MTXT command which now works great in LT.  In fact seems to me to work just like the full version.

Just update your version of LT with the patches and it will work.  If you choose SEttings, you can select how the command deals with the text - single line text to single line mtext, single lines of text to a single mtext piece, maintain line spacing, etc.

Very simple to use once you install it.

FYI... LT does do LISP and other stuff - when ADesk allows it to for their own purposes such as this or with a 3rd party plug-in, of which there are a couple out there.  ( http://www.cadsta.com/CADSTA-Tools-Appload.html )

This is for LT2017 only, and only if you have access to the Fall Update patch under your active Subscription Updates page. It should show up in LT2018 as a core command/feature later this spring when it is released.

Thank you for providing the information about the newer AutoCAD LT features.

But to add this thread did initially start in 2002.
