(purge, wblock etc) was a nice try, but you have over 2 million objects and the need the space they need.

Look at the Screws in the window front on Layer 'DB+ BLUE' for the hugh part.

Do you need help or can you use JOIN (or pedit join / or perhaps overkill) yourself?

My Example (use by your own Risk 😉 )
But I would re-draw the "windows" clear with few objects and use them as block.

Thanks, so it is those louvred windows that are creating the mess? Downloaded the file from the supplier without paying to much attention. If I block them will solve it or better to re draw them?

could you please explain how to use overkill, tried it but it has many options and not sure which one applies.

JOIN is a bit of the same, I could see that works  like match properties...is there anyway to select the whole drawing and do a large clean up...otherwise very time consuming selecting one by one.

thanks for your help

Yes, the count of objects is the issue. (and it isn't to have so many details with so many objects for this)

"If I block them will solve it or better to re draw them?"

Example: Your floor plan Mezzanine, 2. and 3. Floor have the identical window-Front? Optimize the leftside window

front of one floor, then create a BLOCK. Delete the windows front of the others floors and insert blockreferences of your windows-front Block there.

-

Mezzanine 160.489 Elements as Windows-front on the left, 2.+3.Floor the same. = together 481.467 objects

Quick Reduce/optimize by Join&Overkill, one front = ~3300? *3 = 9.90Objects

If you create a Block of this left front and use them for the other two floors too:

481.467 objects versus 3300 Objects + 2 Blockreferences = 3302 Objects.

Thats only one example, You have many more than only 481 thousand objects..

>could you please explain how to use overkill, tried it but it has many options and not sure which one applies.

Disable all upper properties-options, enable all lower options. It's ok for this job. *a) see below

'like match properties' Oh no.

*a) You should select ONLY objects on the same layer in this case,

and perfect should to select only objects of one layer with the same linetype..

Set Layer 'DB+ BLUE'  current, freeze all Layers, now you will see only 'DB+ BLUE' objects..

This job (JOIN) is a hard one for your CPU, I did the job in 8 steps/8  selections and after this i run join again for all complete again.

<qsave>

Then i used OVERKILL.

<qsave>

And post this sample dwg of my quick result.

OffTopic: If you wan't to learn how join or overkill works you should create different scences(test-objects/object test-properties),

and use the commands for this samples, used by different selection orders.

Already think about a computer/program everytime works in the same kind, there are rules behind some chaos 😉
