Standard scale list issue

I have a problem on a few of my .dwg files but not all of them - so I know it must be a setting somewhere.  When I try to change a viewport scale via the pull down menu (properties, misc, standard scales) I can see the available scales but the curser jumps over the options and doesn't allow me to select the scale I want. I can still change the scale via the 'custom scale' dialogue box, so I have a workaround- but such a simple problem is driving me crazy!  I can't find an answer on any forum topics so far. Please help....

@abi.saunders When you get a chance, I recommend you start a support ticket through your subscription portal as explained here to get Autodesk Support involved https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/support-options#:~....

And remember, just like you, everyone here is an Autodesk Customer with real day jobs but we choose to spend time in the forums helping other folks like us with this software.

I will look at the ticket system- assume it is too late for this one?

I have played with the test file. Deleted all the scales (apart from current scale) and reset to metric only. Then I deleted all the scales I don't use and remade the ones I do. The problem appears to be on some VP's and not others and sometimes a VP that worked fine suddenly stops working normally (after a change in scale, not always the same change). I also started to label which VP's were working for me on the test file, but they kept changing from working to not after using the pull down menu. It makes no sense to me, but it feels like something is 'infecting' the viewports. I have attached the file with all VP's unlocked and a short video of me trying to change from 1:500 scale to 1:1250 and if its not clear on the video the curser jumps and doesn't allow me to select the pull down scale. 

And I do appreciate this is all unpaid for help...my husband works in IT and I have to listen to the expletives when muppets like me get things wrong...but he keeps his frustrations offline!

@abi.saunders It is never too late to involve Autodesk Support: here is the deal, from what I can tell none of us (and no one else) with LT2022 can replicate your issue, so this may just be localized. You need someone there (and in your computer) to decipher it.

good news: I can reproduce your issue!

bad news: I can reproduce your issue!

I looked your second screencast 10x and I saw you running another setting than I run (I turned it off because of performance),

the variable is PROPERTYPREVIEW, you use it (1/ON), an I doesn't. To see what it is - check your help[F1]

So I switch my setting and turned it ON like you use it.

Test1 in my ACAD LT 2022.0.0 => still no problem

Test2 in my AutoCAD 2023.0.0 => still no problem

Test3 in my AutoCAD 2022.1.2 => I could reproduce the issue!

Because of the fact you are ru´nning LT 2022.1.2 and I reproduced the problem in AutoCAD 2022.1.2 but not in LT 2022.0.0,

Perhaps the issue came with one of the last update (.1.2 or 1.1 .1.0 or whatever).

I don't like to test it deeper for you because I don't use that feature + it isn't a problem in 2023.0.0 on my side.

I don't know what the 'property preview' thing is or does, and if/ when I switched it on by mistake...the problem seems to have gone now I have switched it off...yay!

so my question is, did I ever need the 'on' function and do I need to inform Autodesk support?

Read the help about the setting as I mentioned and linked to your Help[F1]

A short Test:

While PropertyPreview is ON:

Draw a circle, select the circle and move your cursor inside the COLOR-list in your PropertiesPalette or Ribbon.

Just moving up and down, don't press any button.

You can see, the circle color change to the color which is marked (but not confirmed) .

In your current case it is not a circle and not the color, but a Viewport and the Standardscale of this viewport and this is the same feature - "the preview of changes via Ribbon or PropertiesPalette".

My Circle/Color sample should work, but Viewport/Standardscale fails in 2022.1.2

Do the same while PropertyPreview is OFF and you can see the difference: The circle color doesn't change until you confirm the selection = no longer a "preview" of your selection.

Need? You never need to inform the AutoDESK Support, but it is a bug and it woulf be good to inform

AutoCAD about all bugs you found.

OK, thanks. I did try to get a description via F1 and a whole load of non related stuff came up, so I gave up....

your description of what it does is very well worded and I don't think I will miss that function for now.

I will report it to Autodesk.
