Solid white hatch pringing black in LT 2018

I have recently upgraded to AutoCAD LT 2018.  Many of our companies drawings use the solid white hatch (color 255,255,255) with degrees of transparency, so the underlying layers appear faded.  Unfortunately, now that I have upgraded to LT 2018, the solid white hatch is printing black (or grey with 50% transparency).  This is the case for drawings plotted in .dwg and .pdf.  There appear to be a number of folks having this problem and the "solution" provided in the forum is to report the issue.  Please find a fix to this bug.  Thanks.

Post a DWG with the problem and include any plot style tables you use, let's all have a look.

This is bug is popping up in a lot of our files that were both created in earlier versions of CAD and new drawings created in CAD 2018. Thank you for your quick response and offering to help.

Attached is an example of the problem I am having with the solid white hatch.  I have included both .dwg and .pdf versions.  Fingers crossed.

Welcome to the Autodesk / AutoCAD Forums !

Please have you the problem if your Solid Hatch Color is RGB: 254 , 254 , 254

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting your files. This looks like a known issue that the development team is aware of. I've linked your post to the open development issue to demonstrate the need for a fix.

In the meantime, @braudpat's recommendation is the workaround that we'd also suggest. Could you try this and let us know if it works for you in the meantime?

Patrice-

Your work around worked.  Adjusting the color to RGB 254, 254, 254 gave me the partially transparent solid white hatch I wanted.  Thank you so much.

This has been a known issue for a while now. Is there a fix coming any time this year?

We're in 2025 and still no fix.... I add that the 254 color trick doesn't work on curved shape, like representation of piping.

Hi Pat, thanks for your reply, as I said in my message, the 254,254,254 doesn't work on every shape. I tried to apply it to a duct line and it doesn't work. The scope was to easily hide all the other lines behind the pipe. In this case the hatch does not appear at all. It seems to work only on shapes with straight lines, but not on shapes with curves or splines.

If I change the hatch type and line scale, the hatch is shown, but in solid color there's nothing.

Anyway, since it's an old know issue I'm a bit surprised it has not been fixed yet and we still need to rely on a "trick" to make it work. I'm using LT2020.

the tip works for all of us, so can you share a DWG file so we can see what makes your content different?
