Solid hatch with gradient and transparency - Problem

Hi All

I updated my software from 2016 to 2019 this morning and have run into a problem with hatch. For glazed areas I use a solid hatch pattern, with a two colour gradient (134 & 131) and then apply transparency at 50%. This usually works fine.

With my new software, the hatch looks fine in paper/model space, but when I print, it changes to solid purple (blue with transparency).

If I set the transparency to 0% it works, but is too dark. If I hatch without gradient, but with transparency it works, but its not the colour I want. The problem seems to occur when I want gradient and transparency at the same time.

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has this issue.

Any help would be great.

Regards Alex

Hi @alex,

I'm having a bit of trouble reproducing the specific issue. Could you please post a sample DWG file that clearly shows the problem?

I'll be happy to test it here.

Hi @alex,

I'm just checking in again to see if you need more help with this. Will you be able to provide the sample file / information I requested yesterday?

Hi VStudley

Thanks for looking into this. I spoke with AutoDesk support, and it appears
it’s a problem with the 2019 release. I have been advised to use 2018 until
they have been able to update the program.

Just for info, the problem occurs when I use transparency and gradient on a
solid hatch. Using just transparency, or just gradient is fine, but it
won’t let you use the two together… I use solid with gradient colours 134
and 131, then set transparency to 90 to mimic glass.

Interestingly, if you make all your changes, close the drawing and reopen
it, everything is fine and you can print, but if you just click on the
hatch, it turns solid blue (in print preview). It’s a work-a-round…

Regards

Alex

Does anyone know if there's been a fix for this yet?

Thanks,

Ashley

Sorry, I should have specified. Is there a fix for 2019? I don't have 2018 LT.
