Side by side drawing view without start tab

AutoCAD 2022 LT.

How do i open the drawing side by side view without the Start tab also showing.

When i have 2 drawings/windows open the last thing i want is the Start tab taking a 1/3 of the space.

Best regards,

At the command line type STARTMODE. Change the value to 0. You will need to restart AutoCAD. To get it back change the value back to 1

Hi hwalker,

Thanks for the reply. I should have said I tried playing with that option.

Changing the value to 0 in STARTMODE gets rid of the Start tab completely, which isn't what I was after.

To be fair the Start tab can be quite useful but it's totally useless when viewing different drawings side-by-side and takes too much screen space up.

AutoCad LT won't let me close (X) the Start tab window but it will let me minimize it so I guess that is my best option?

Best regards.

Yeah short of not having a start tab that is your best option

In the tile view minimize the start tab and then click tile view again in the ribbon

Did you try minimizing the start tab? And restarting the tile option?

Use the floating drawing windows that are new in the 2022 version.
